recyclopedia - how is your junk mail recycled?
It is amazing what happens to your junk mail betweeen the time you put it on the curb to the time it becomes something new.
  1. You put your junk mail in a paper bag with your old newspapers.
  2. You put the paper bag in your recycling bin for pickup, or your parents bring it to your town's drop-off center.
  3. All of your town's junk mail is brought to the Connecticut Resources Recovery Authority (CRRA)'s recycling center.
  4. Your junk mail, and junk mail from other towns, is sorted and shipped to a paper mill.
  5. The paper mill turns the old paper into new products like paper towels, printer paper and newsprint.
  6. These new products are sold on your store's shelves.
